Keep in contact with your transfer admissions counselor. This person is available to help you through the college admission process and knows about all the deadlines, forms and important events.

Thanksgiving break is November 22 - 25. Classes resume on Monday, November 26.

Research scholarships. Utilize the resources available from your local library, web sites, parents' work, your employer and church.

New spring accepted students only:

Send in your confirming and housing deposits and paperwork. St. Thomas requires a $200 deposit to reserve a space in the class and a $200 deposit to reserve a space in a residence hall. Housing availability is not guaranteed and is based on the date we receive your housing deposit. These deposits are refundable if requested in writing by August 1.

December 2007

Apply for outside funding or scholarships (you'll be busy writing essays!)

Don't have a PIN (Personal Identification Number) for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)? Then obtain one at the U.S. Department of Education PIN Web site.

Collect family tax information and file your taxes as soon as possible. UST's priority deadline for financial aid is April 1. Be sure to file your FAFSA by this date.

New fall accepted students only:
Transferring from a community college? Make sure to apply for the Recognition Scholarship for Community College Students. You can download a copy of the application, or e-mail the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at (651) 962-6150 or (800) 328-6819, Ext. 2-6150 for an application.

New spring accepted students only:
Transfer class registration begins and continues through January. Contact Academic Counseling at (651) 962-6300 or (800) 328-6819, Ext. 2-6300 to set-up an appointment to register.

Contact your current college or university's registrar's office to have your official final transcript sent to UST.

January 2008

After January 1, or as soon as you file your Federal Taxes, you should file your FAFSA electronically. You can also obtain a paper FAFSA from your college counseling office. The FAFSA school code for St. Thomas is 002345.

Be wary of Web sites or services that charge a fee for financial aid. Filing the FAFSA is free.

New spring accepted students:
First day of spring class is Monday, January 28, 2008.

February 2008

March 2008

Your Student Aid Report (SAR) will either be sent to you electronically or by mail. You will receive your SAR 1-3 weeks after you file the FAFSA.

Want to live on-campus? The Office of Undergraduate Admissions offers residence hall tours on Mondays through Thursdays in the spring.

April 2008

If you want to live on campus, make sure you sent in your housing deposit and paperwork.

Notify in writing the schools you will not be attending.

Thinking about a major in business? Attend the Business Advantage event. Hear from the Opus College of Business faculty about the opportunities that await you.

May 2008

Hold on to your course syllabi in case we need them to evaluate your course work.

Make sure you have sent in your confirming deposit and paperwork so you can register for classes.

Make sure to complete the UST Immunization Form and any other necessary heath related forms.

Attend Transfer Orientation. Meet your new classmates and professors while learning more about campus life.

September 2008

Move into your residence hall over Labor Day Weekend.

Fall Welcome events are held during Labor Day Weekend for new students.

First Day of class is Wednesday, September 3, 2008.
