Library Instruction Outcomes

The UST Libraries user will:

1. Learn basic print and electronic resources available at UST (online catalog, general periodical indexes, subject dictionaries and encyclopedias, etc.)
2. Identify specific resources used to do research in a specific field (including web research)
3. Understand how knowledge is organized in order to access information (in both print and electronic formats), as well as to become self-sufficient, life-long learners
4. Evaluate information to determine its authority, currency, coverage, objectivity, accuracy, and relevancy
5. Define information needs and when to seek help from a library staff member.
