America's Historical Newspapers
Early American Newspapers, Series 1, 1690-1876 offers 350,000 fully searchable issues from over 710 historical American newspapers. Focusing largely on the 18th and early 19th centuries, this online collection is based on Clarence S. Brigham’s “History and Bibliography of American Newspapers, 1690-1820” and other authoritative bibliographies. 

Early American Newspaper, Series 2 offers several hundred thousand fully searchable issues from more than 250 significant 18th- and 19th-century newspapers from all 50 present states. Based primarily on the holdings of the American Antiquarian Society (AAS), which houses a vast collection of American newspapers through 1876, Series 2 also includes titles from the acclaimed newspaper collection of the Wisconsin Historical Society and more than 90 other institutions.  Send comments to Ann Kenne.  Trial ends 11/30/09. 

Bibliography of British and Irish History

Compendex
Compendex is a comprehensive bibliographic database of engineering research, containing over nine million references and abstracts taken from over 5,000 engineering journals, conferences and technical reports. Online coverage is from 1969 to the present. Approximately 250,000 new records are added to the database annually from over 175 disciplines and major specialties within engineering. Compendex is updated weekly.

Coverage includes nuclear technology, bioengineering, transportation, chemical and process engineering, light and optical technology, agricultural engineering and food technology, computers and data processing, applied physics, electronics and communications, control, civil, mechanical, materials, petroleum, aerospace and automotive engineering as well as narrower subtopics within all these and other major engineering fields.  Send comments to Earl Belisle or Eric Kallas.  Trial ends 12/1/09.   

The Guardian and the Observer (1791-2003)

Latin America Data Base
The Latin America Data Base (LADB) is the longest running, premier, exclusively on-line, English language news service about Latin America. LADB produces three weekly electronic publications and maintains an on-line searchable data base of over 24,000 articles as well as Latin American journals. Literary Reference Center
This full-text database combines information from major respected reference works, books, literary journals as well as original content from EBSCO Publishing. It contains full text for many plot summaries, synopses and work overviews, articles/essays of literary criticism, author biographies (including in-depth bios), literary journals, book reviews, classic and contemporary poems, classic and contemporary short stories, author interviews, classic texts, and more. Palgrave's Dictionary of Economics
The New Palgrave Dictionary of Economics Online is a subject encyclopedia for Economics, useful for getting definitive explanations of economic concepts, browsing for research paper topic selection, and locating additional sources for further reading from the article bibliographies.  Contains over 1,872 articles.  You can locate articles in a number of ways, by keyword search at top left, browse by letter of the alphabet, browse by topic (uses the Journal of Economic Literature or JEL classification--open the browser, pick the category's radio button, and hit Update), or browse by contributor. PsychiatryOnline
PsychiatryOnline, published by the American Psychiatric Association’s publishing arm, includes the DSM-IV-TR, all of the previous DSMs, the Case Studies, the Clinical Textbook, 5 journals published by the American Psychiatric Association, books on psychopharmacology, several textbooks on psychiatry and psychotherapy and cross-referencing links among them. This is THE place to go to learn about the DSM and its interpretation. All material can be downloaded to your pda or phone.  Send comments to Merrie Davidson.  Trial ends 11/26/09.
