Art Full-text

This database offers full text plus abstracts and indexing of an international array of peer-selected publications - now with expanded coverage of Latin American, Canadian, Asian and other non-Western art, new artists, contemporary art, exhibition reviews, and feminist criticism.  

Blackwell Reference Online

Blackwell Reference Online is a vast online library giving instant access to the most authoritative and up-to-date scholarship across the humanities and social sciences.

Credo Reference

Resource of reference materials providing access to about 100 online reference books including encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri and books of quotations from a variety of publishers. Covers both general reference and subject-specific reference titles for a variety of disciplines. Allows for cross-referencing across different books and provides a unique, graphics-based research Mapper for topic exploration.

Expanded Academic ASAP

Bibliographic references, abstracts, or full text for articles from more than 960 scholarly and general interest publications. Covered subject areas include the humanities, social sciences, non-technical general sciences, and current events. 

Gale Virtual Reference Library

Full-text encyclopedias and dictionaries. Includes the International Dictionary of Films and Filmakers.

American Society for Theatre Research (ASTR)
Established in 1956, this organization provides a public voice for theatre scholars and promotes the cause of theatre as a field for serious scholarly study and research.

The Library of Congress Federal Theatre Project Collection
The Federal Theatre Project Collection contains documentation for stage productions mounted by the Federal Theatre Project in the period 1935-39.

Internet Movie Database (IMDb)
Useful database that allows you search by movie or TV title, by cast or crew name, by character name, or by quote.

The Kennedy Center's ArtsEdge page
An exceptionally good collection of resources for the study and production of theater. Though aimed at K-12 Drama Instructors, many links are useful for academic study.

Live Broadway
Home page of the League of American Theatres and Producers. It is the national trade association for the commercial theatre industry.The League's members are theatre owners and operators, producers, presenters and general managers of Broadway and touring legitimate theatrical productions in New York and over 90 major cities across the United States and Canada.

McCoy's Guide to Internet Resources in Theatre and Performance Studies
This extensive guide has been compiled and is maintained Dr. Ken McCoy of Stetson University in Florida. It not only provides links to large general web collections, but has sections on specific topics like Actors and Acting, Stagecraft and Technical Theatre, Plays and Playwrights, Shakespeare, and Non-profit theatre and arts organizations. Dr. McCoy also includes discussion on the best known discussion lists, and other resources for modern research.

MEDIA: A Guide to Internet Resources
This guide, produced by the University of Delaware Library, has a wealth of resources for film studies. Resources include: academic film discussion, reviews, distributors for specialty media, web sites featuring alternative films, and film, video and broadcasting archives on the web.

Milieux Costume Site
An excellent site to view costumes from many time periods.

Operabase
Covers monthly performance data from over 300 international opera hourses as well as reviews, opera history, and links to other useful sites on opera. Operabase has an excellent search engine.
