Reference Books and Library Resources

Search CLICnet for books and nonprint materials about your topic.  Items you find there can be requested online and sent to the library of your choice.

World Cat
WorldCat contains over 62 million bibliographic records for items in libraries around the world. This may be useful when you can't find an item in a CLIC library.  Books not held by CLIC libraries can be borrowed  on interlibrary loan.

• Education Counts: Benchmarking Progress in 19 WEI Countries.  This document presents information for the school year which ended in 2004 on educational attainment, finance, and teachers in 63 countries.
• Global Education Digest 2007. Published by UNESCO, this is similar to the Digest of Education Statistics, but compiles international statistics.
• Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS). An ongoing study by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) that compares the United States with other countries in the fields of math and science education.
• Program for International Student Assessment (PISA). An ongoing project  by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), this measures 15-year olds achievement in the areas of reading, mathematics, and science literacy every three years.
