Below are some of the image repositories available to you as a St. Thomas student, followed by a number of free collections.
The Visual Resources Library collection consists of over 65,000 art and architecture slides of varied mediums and geographic areas from prehistoric time to the 21st century. .
The collection is developed in response to departmental curricular needs and is utilized by Art History staff and students; however, other faculty and students are welcome to make use of the collection. Plans are underway to digitize the collection and make the catalog available for searching via the Web.
The Visual Resources Library is located at 2057 Portland Avenue in the Department of Art History house.
Hours of Operation: Monday - Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. to noon. Because the VRL is operated by one full-time professional and work-study students, there are times it may be closed during posted hours. It is recommended that patrons outside the Art History department call ahead to confirm availability.
