Patron Books In Print

Books in Print provides publishing information for over 5 million book, audio and video titles that are in-print, out-of-print, or forthcoming. It also includes reviews, and other information about items. Users can create lists of favorites, use the reader’s advisory service to find good reads by topic, genre, etc, or visit the children’s and fiction “rooms” to track favorite authors, characters, or series.
 
Philosopher's Index

This Philosopher's Index is a bibliographic database with informative, author-written abstracts covering scholarly research in all areas of philosophy.

Physical Education Index

Physical Education Index features a wide variety of content from the scholarly and trade literature. PILOTS

PILOTS is a bibliographic database produced at the headquarters of the National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in White River Junction, Vermont, and is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Its goal is to include citations to all literature on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental-health sequelae of traumatic events, without disciplinary, linguistic, or geographical limitations, while offering both current and retrospective coverage.

Points Of View

A full-text database providing a series of essays that present multiple sides of a current issue. The database provides 250 topics, each with an overview (objective background/description), point (argument),counterpoint (opposing argument), and Critical Thinking Guide (helps to judge Fact vs. Opinion).
The database contains a balance of materials from all viewpoints, including main essays, leading political magazines from both sides of the aisle, newspapers, radio & TV news transcripts, primary source documents and reference books. Additionally, it offers guides to debate, developing arguments and writing position papers. It also contains the Video Encyclopedia of the 20th Century -- a searchable collection of some of the most important social, political, and cultural moments of the 20th century.

Comprehensive country profiles chronicling national history, government, and political parties, as well as profiles on intergovernmental organizations, development banks, and the agencies and specialized bodies of the United Nations.

Proceedings First

ProceedingsFirst is a companion database to Papersfirst. Whereas Papersfirst indexes papers presented at conferences and expositions from around the world, ProceedingsFirst contains more information about the conferences and meetings themselves such as the other papers presented and the people who spoke. Proceedingsfirst contains over 192,000 records received by the British Library that date back from 1993 to the present.
 
Professional Development Collection

The Professional Development Collection is a resource for researchers in education. It includes resources across a broad range of educational topics and research levels. It indexes over 700 journals, and over 500 of those are peer reviewed. About 350 of the peer reviewed titles are available in full text. Use this to supplement your research in ERIC.

Resources for College Libraries (RCLweb) is a core list of print and electronic titles in many subject areas, chosen by subject-experts. RCLweb allows librarians, faculty, and students to find research materials, enhance course curriculum, and augment collections. Search by a variety of criteria including: Audience, Format, Awards, and date added to the database. Entries include a full-text review from Choice and a link to CLICnet. Titles or lists can be printed, e-mailed, and downloaded.

Available only in the Keffer or OSF libraries. Simmons Choices 3 is the electronic version of the consumer study conducted by Simmons Study of Media and Markets. It contains consumer response data on a wide variety of products, services, and media preferences.

This resource is an electronic version of all volumes of the reference sets entitled Something about the Author and Something About the Author: Autobiography Series. It includes biographical profiles of the lives and work of well-known and emerging authors and illustrators for children and young adults. Entries include personal information, list of awards and honors, list of writings or illustrated works, adaptations, background information about major works, biographical and critical resources, and if the person is deseased, references for obituaries.

Spotlight on Careers is a collaborative project initiated by the Liberal Arts Career NetWORK, a consortium of twenty-nine private liberal arts colleges. The goal is to make available the best information about a wide range of popular and cutting-edge career fields of interest to liberal arts students through use of the Internet. Includes information on the core and specialized aspects of the career field, internships, entry level and advanced employment opportunities, and key web and print resources.
