Copyright at UST
Why Should I Care About Copyright?
Three reasons:
1) It's the law. Federal statutes prohibit the unauthorized use of copyrighted material.
2) It's the right thing to do. Faculty and students should respect the rights of owners and creators of copyrighted material.
3) It's the smart thing to do. Individuals at the University of St. Thomas are responsible for their own actions with regard to the laws regarding the use of copyrighted materials. The best defense against claims of copyright infringement is a good faith effort to comply with the law.
This website is designed to help students, faculty, and staff understand and comply with copyright law and respect the intellectual property rights of authors.
