Biography:

Edward P. Keenan was born February 26, 1906 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He attended and graduated from the Nazareth Hall Pro-Seminary, the College of St. Thomas (1927) and the Saint Paul Seminary (1931). He received his MA in English from Columbia University in 1933 and spent the summer of 1932 studying at Cambridge University. In 1934 he began teaching in the English Department at the College of St. Thomas a position he held until 1960. From 1954 to 1960, he was also the Chaplain at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Fr. Keenan died on November 14, 1969 in St. Paul.

Scope and Content:

This collection includes published and unpublished writings by Fr. Keenan, speeches and lectures, teaching materials and some personal correspondence dating from 1935 – 1968.
