Curriculum & Hubbs Children's Literature Collections
Charles J. Keffer Library

The Curriculum & children's Literature materials comprise special collections of resources for Teacher Education and other students in the School of Education.  The collections may also be used by students at other CLIC schools (checkout is available) and by the general public in the library only.

The collections are located within the Charles J. Keffer Library, and are available during regular library hours.

Services
The following special services are available:

  • Reference service and reader's advisory service.
  • Instruction for students in the use of curriculum materials, children's literature, education journals, ERIC and Education Fulltext databases, and web-based resources.
  • Assistance in the selection of educational materials for the library.
  • A state-of-the-art Make and Take room including an Ellison Letter Machine and multimedia computers.

Locating materials
Most of the Curriculum collection material is cataloged in CLICnet. Select "Children's Books/Curriculum" in the collections drop-down box to limit your search to this kind of material; you can further limit by location to Keffer Library, or leave your search broad to see what the rest of the consortium has to offer. Student projects are listed in a special index.  Assistance is available from a librarian.

  • Audiovisuals, maps, posters, manipulatives, and educational software

  • Student projects from former students

Borrowing materials
All material in the collections may be borrowed except reference books, magazines, and computer software. A valid UST or CLIC identification card is required in order to borrow materials.  Members of the general public may use materials in the library, or may request them on interlibrary loan through their local library.

Special Information for School of Education Faculty
Faculty members are encouraged to recommend materials for inclusion in the collections. Instruction for individuals or groups in the use of Curriculum Lab materials is available.
