Media Collection Assistant

Will work under the supervision of the Media Resources Librarian.

Duties:

Responsible for:

  • Processing media collection materials
  • Shelving media resources according to the Library of Congress Call number system
  • Checking in and checking out media resources from the circulating and reserve collections using the CLICnet automated system.
  • Searching CLICnet. Download, print, and update interlibrary loan lending requests on computer.
  • Providing customer service, patron support, and directional service at the media resources circulation  counter. Answering telephones at the desk.
  • Delivering and picking up material on campus
  • Preparing items received from other libraries for UST patrons and sending patron notification, or placing in courier pouches for delivery to Ireland and Keffer libraries.
  • Performing preventive and routine maintenance on playbacks and other equipment 
  • Assisting in closing of media resources room
  • Reading shelves and shifting materials in assigned areas to maintain correct call number order and neatness.
  • Doing other tasks as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to maintain a good service attitude in a busy environment
  • Must be reliable and able to work scheduled hours for the entire semester
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Able to work independently   
  • Ability to work with a variety of people. 

We will teach you all aspects of the job. No previous experience necessary.

Days/Times:

Monday ? Saturday; morning, afternoon, evening. Specific hours are flexible.

8 hours minimum per week.
