Media Collection Assistant
Will work under the supervision of the Media Resources Librarian.
Duties:
Responsible for:
- Processing media collection materials
- Shelving media resources according to the Library of Congress Call number system
- Checking in and checking out media resources from the circulating and reserve collections using the CLICnet automated system.
- Searching CLICnet. Download, print, and update interlibrary loan lending requests on computer.
- Providing customer service, patron support, and directional service at the media resources circulation counter. Answering telephones at the desk.
- Delivering and picking up material on campus
- Preparing items received from other libraries for UST patrons and sending patron notification, or placing in courier pouches for delivery to Ireland and Keffer libraries.
- Performing preventive and routine maintenance on playbacks and other equipment
- Assisting in closing of media resources room
- Reading shelves and shifting materials in assigned areas to maintain correct call number order and neatness.
- Doing other tasks as needed.
Required Skills:
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must be able to maintain a good service attitude in a busy environment
- Must be reliable and able to work scheduled hours for the entire semester
- Must be detail-oriented
- Able to work independently
- Ability to work with a variety of people.
We will teach you all aspects of the job. No previous experience necessary.
Days/Times:
Monday ? Saturday; morning, afternoon, evening. Specific hours are flexible.
8 hours minimum per week.
