Job description for acquisitions & cataloging assistant

Collection Management and Services Assistant I

Duties:

Will work under the supervision of the Collection Management and Services staff and independently. Responsible for:

  • Processing books for the library
  • Maintaining "New Book Area"
  • Processing withdrawn books
  • Preparing books for shipment to Keffer Library
  • Checking in new books
  • Searching the online catalog for gift book holdings
  • Miscellaneous other projects as needed

Requirements.  You must be:

  • Detail-oriented
  • Comfortable with computers
  • A Self-starter
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to lift 30-40 pounds

Library experience is a plus but not necessary.  We will teach you all aspects of the job. 

Days/Times:

  • Flexible schedule during normal working hours (Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm)
  • Prefer a schedule of at least 8 hours per week
