In case of an Emergency: Dial 2-5555
For all other non-emergency calls to Security, Dial 2-5100.

Members of the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library Circulation Team are the "Go To" people on evenings and weekends. Contact them (962-5494) if an emergency arises on evenings and weekends. At all other times contact your department supervisor with any questions and concerns regarding security matters.

The UST Department of Public Safety and Parking is open 24 hours each day of the year to offer students, faculty, staff and visitors a variety of services: answering questions, allowing access to building, escorting to cars at night, taking criminal reports, carrying out investigations, handling parking concerns, etc.

Additionally, UST Public Safety and Parking personnel provide the following services: Emergency Response and First Aid; Car starting/unlocking; Lost and Found.

Fire Alarm and Evacuation

In the event of a fire, all individuals in any building will be evacuated and directed to the nearest exit. At the sound of the fire alarm, you are expected to immediately leave your workstation and exit the library. Once outside, all OSF library staff and student assistants are to meet at the flagpole located in the center of the Lower Quad.  In case of bad weather, meet in the first floor lounge area across from the Information Center in Murray Herrick Hall.  Other library locations should see their supervisors for directions on handling a fire alarm and tornado warning.

Tornado Warnings

At the sound of the National Weather Service siren, all students, patrons, and staff members in the OSF building should go the Lower Level of the library and await further direction. Be sure to stay away from windows.
