There are two editions of this highly respected encyclopedia. Although out of date, the first edition (1967) is still aluable although not reflecting the most current developemnt in social thought and of course statements promulgated after the mid-1960's. The second edition (2003), although more current and available online, did not significanlt alter much of the older content and deleted large chunks of material. It is  dvisable if conducting in-depth research to consult both editions if time allows.
