SSLRT Instruction and Services

Liaison librarians act as liaisons or subject specialists to faculty, staff, and students in specified academic departments.

  • Serving as the primary contact between faculty and staff in those departments and the library
  • Providing individualized assistance for students, faculty and staff by appointment
  • Assisting with the development and management of library collections in department subject areas
  • Assisting faculty with developing assignments
  • Developing and providing library use instruction and class presentations
  • Creating print and web-based subject guides to assist researchers with assignments and projects
  • Assisting with collection analysis for course proposals and accreditation reports
  • Developing and providing workshops in a particular subject area and/or focusing on specific resources.
