Finding My Own Way

Minnesota-based sculptor, Anne Meyer, will talk about her experience transitioning from learning through and working for others to finding her own voice as an artist and working for herself.  She will discuss the different forms of mentorship she has benefited from: being raised on a farm, in schooling, pursuing a Japanese-style apprenticeship in pottery, and collaborating with older artists.  In particular, Meyer hopes to share how these foundational experiences influence her work today and describe what propelled her to strike out on her own in both her artwork and her career.
