LDCW Grant Recipient and Women’s Studies Reception
The Luann Dummer Center for Women is hosting a reception for our 2012-2013 grant recipients, along with graduating Women’s Studies majors and minors and the 2013-2014 grant recipients. Come celebrate the accomplishments of our students on Friday, May 3 from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. in the Center.

Paretsky’s deep-rooted concern for social justice—the hallmark of her novels—has carried her voice beyond the world of crime fiction. As a frequent contributor to the New York Times’ op-ed page and a speaker at the Library of Congress, Oxford University, and the University of Chicago, she is an impassioned advocate for those on society’s margins.

The Luann Dummer Center for Women is located on the St. Paul campus and hosts an annual Open House and Chocolate Reception each Fall at the Center's space in O'Shaughnessy Education Center. The staff will be hosting a Chocolate Reception on the Minneapolis campus to inform the campus of upcoming events, highlight our services at UST, and have an opportunity to mingle with the students, faculty, and staff of the Minneapolis campus.

Women's Circle will host an abbreviated viewing of the documentary with an informal discussion to follow. "Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide" is a four-hour PBS primetime documentary film and national broadcast event inspired by the widely acclaimed book of the same name by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. WuDunn was the LDCW Women's History Month speaker in 2012.
