The Journal is now accepting student submissions for publication. In order to be considered for inclusion in our next issue, all note and comment submissions must be received by January 3, 2010 at 5 pm.
To be considered for publication, email your article along with a completed Notes and Comments Survey and Notes and Comments Checklist (available below) to Ron Walters, Notes and Comments Editor, at ronaldmwalters@gmail.com.
For those students interested in learning more about publishing with the UST Law Journal, the particulars of UST's upper-level writing requirement, or about how to write a publishable law review article generally, we have made the following documents available for download:
Notes and Comments Committee Publication Guide. A document that explains the process by which the Journal selects student pieces for publication and what the Journal looks for in publishable submissions.
Understanding the Upper-Level Writing Requirement. A document that explains UST's current policies regarding the upper-level writing requirement and contains advice about how to approach it.
Choosing a Research Paper Topic & Considerations for Publication. A document put together by Debbie Hackerson, one of our esteemed research librarians, that contains a wealth of information regarding academic legal writing. Topics covered include: topic selection, preemption checking, and avoiding plagiarism.
Notes and Comments Checklist. A document that must be filled out by all student authors and submitted along with their note or comment. In combination with the Publication Guide, the Checklist provides helpful insight as to what the Journal is looking for in a publishable student article.
Notes and Comments Survey. Another document that must be filled out by all student authors and submitted along with their note or comment.
