The University of St. Thomas was recently honored by Kaposia, Inc., a Twin Cities Employment and Alternative Service provider, with their One Step Ahead Award. St. Thomas has two individuals from Kaposia employed by the Law School and the College of Applied Professional Studies.
Kaposia was founded in 1963 as a Neighborhood House Day Activity Center serving eight teens and adults with developmental disabilities. Today, they seek to enhance the community and each individual through finding meaningful employment at competitive wages for people with disabilities; providing employers with competent, motivated and committed employees; and offering retired workers who may be disabled a way to stay vital and active in the community.
