The University of St. Thomas School of Law welcomed the class of 2011 with a new orientation program this year. Starting on Monday, August 18, students participated in a full week of orientation activities which included the course Foundations of Justice, the Voluntary Academic Success Program, and opportunities to get to know both the UST Law community and the larger Twin Cities community.
Enrollment for the class of 2011 was right on target according to Admissions Director Cari Haaland. The class includes 151 students from 25 states and four countries. This class continues the School of Law’s trend toward greater geographic diversity as UST Law continues to advance its national reputation. A total of 78 different universities and colleges are represented and the class also boasts a competitive academic profile.
Again this year the School of Law had its largest application pool to date, counter to a national trend of declining law school applicants. “We are very pleased with the make up of this class,” Haaland commented. “These students bring a wealth of experience and will enrich our community and contribute to our mission in profound ways.” The complete profile of the class can be found here.
Monday, August 25 marks the first day of classes for all School of Law Students.
