Minnesota Justice Foundation to honor two from University of St. Thomas Law at Annual Award Celebration

Associate Professor Nekima Levy-Pounds and third year law student Jennifer Zanner will receive Outstanding Service Awards from the Minnesota Justice Foundation at their Annual Award Celebration on November 15.  They will receive the awards in the respective categories of Law School Professor and Law School Student.

Zanner was selected for her work with immigration through the Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights and Southern Minnesota Legal Services.  Associate Professor Levy-Pounds was selected for her leadership of the Community Justice Project through the University of St. Thomas Interprofessional Center and the NAACP.

The Minnesota Justice Foundation gives these awards yearly.  Recipients are selected by the MJF Board of Directors from nominees submitted by members of the legal community.  This year’s other award winners include:

• Advocate Award:  Ann Thiesen
• Champion Award:  Peter Knapp
• Direct Service Award:  Philip Marron
• Private Practice Award: Mary Schwind
