Vischer Named Associate Dean for Academic Affairs

Published on: Thursday, June 2, 2011

University of St. Thomas School of Law Professor Rob Vischer has been named Associate Dean for Academic Affairs as of June 1, 2011.

In his announcement to the law school community, Dean Thomas Mengler said, "Rob is a magnificent teacher and a highly productive scholar of national reputation; and he has served the School of Law and the university in many important service roles.  Rob has solid academic values, a dedication to excellence, and a deep understanding of our Catholic mission and vision. I  am delighted that we will have the opportunity to work with Rob in this significant new role.

"Dean Vischer has just begun his new responsibilities. That means, of course, that Professor Thomas Berg, who has served the School of Law superbly for two years as Associate Dean, is returning to the blissful life of a full-time law professor – where he can spend more time in the classroom with students and continue his career as one of this country’s leading scholars of  religious liberties law.  Please join me in thanking Professor Berg for his outstanding two years of service as Associate Dean."
