UST School of Law student Juno Nayagam has been appointed Lt. Governor for 8th Circuit Events for the ABA's Law Student Division. As a part of the 8th Circuit Lieutenant Governor Team for 2011-2012, Nayagam joins law students from 14 other law schools who were appointed based on their qualifications, leadership skills, and desire to serve the law students of the 8th Circuit. The 8th Circuit includes the states of Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
The ABA website indicates that the Law Student Division section focuses on practical and professional skills development for law school students and provides assistance in the search for jobs, both during and after graduation from law school. Additionally, the Division offers leadership training, public service opportunities, career development programming, and practical skills competitions. The Law Student Division is comprised of fifteen circuits (not to be confused with the federal judicial circuits) to better serve the needs of students on a regional, as well as national level.
Nayagam looks forward to representing the UST School of Law as he works with the Lieutenant Governor Team to coordinate circuit events for ABA Law Student Division 8th Circuit members.
