By Nicole Fredricks Jackson, Director of Alumni Relations
The University of St. Thomas School of Law Alumni Program Committee is pleased to announce that it will be providing legal support at the Project Homeless Connect event on Monday, June 14th at the St. Paul River Centre. We are seeking 10-12 alumni volunteers to work in teams to assist attendees in completing family law paperwork (e.g., child support forms, parenting time requests, third-party custody requests). We prefer full-day volunteers (9:00 am - 3:30 pm), but can accommodate both morning (9:00 am - 12:00 pm) and afternoon (12:00 pm - 3:30 pm) shifts as well.
No previous experience in family law is required. An optional training by Sara Sommarstrom of the Minnesota Justice Foundation and Joe LaPlant of the Ramsey County District Court will be provided for interested volunteer attorneys on June 10th at 6-7:30 pm. The training will be held at UST Law School. To RSVP for the training, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please contact Nicole Fredricks Jackson at email@example.com if you are interested in volunteering with the UST School of Law alumni team at this great and worthwhile event.
