The School of Law Alumna Achievement Award will be posthumously awarded to Diana Hamilton, class of 2006, during the Alumnae Brunch on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013. The award will be presented to Diana's family in recognition and sincere appreciation of her achievements, which exemplified the ideals of the mission, including characteristics of leadership, professionalism, hard work, commitment to excellence and respect for others.
Diana was a tireless advocate for the rights of children, working in the Family Law Clinic during law school and championing the rights of children as an attorney at the Youth Law Project of the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis. Diana played an instrumental role in the passage of the Family Reunification Act (2013). Diana was a community leader, serving as a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association Children & The Law Section's Board of Officers, and as a volunteer and manager of youth programming at her church.
