Troubleshoot Printing



Problems installing a printer


If you see: Windows cannot find \\ust-mplsprint.

Then:

1. Make sure you have the slashes going in the right direction.

If you see: The network path was not found.

Then:

1. Make sure you have the path spelled correctly \\ust-mplsprint.
-If the spelling is correct go to 2.

2. Make sure you are connected to the UST wireless internet.
-If you are connected to the internet and still cannot connect to \\ust-mplsprint, restart your computer.
-If after restarting your computer you are still unable to connect to \\ust-mplsprint, contact the Helpdesk at 651-962-6230.

Problems printing


If you: Have a printer installed but it did not print.

Then:

1. Confirm that you are printing to the correct printer
-Many times jobs are accidentally sent to the wrong printer. Check before attempting to print a second time or you could be charged multiple times.

2. Confirm that you are connected to the network.
-If you are connected to the network go to step 3.
-If you are not connected, reconnect to the network. If this does not work restart your computer.

3. You need to log into the print server.
-Follow the printer installation instructions for accessing \\ust-mplsprint. This will log you into the print server.
-If this does not fix the problem, restart your computer.
-If this fails to work call the Helpdesk at (651)962-6230.
