Nick Farris received a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Saint Mary's College of California in 2009. After graduation, he recieved the Maurer Fellowship to attend Indiana University Maurer School of Law and the SOIC Merit Award to attend the Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing. During law school, he worked for Judge Lance Hamner of the Johnson County Superior Court in Franklin, Indiana. Additionally, he worked at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law Library and served as a research assistant to Professor Gene Shreve.

At St. Thomas, he teaches legal research and provides reference services to law school faculty, students, and staff. He is a member of both the Minnesota Association of Law Libraries and the American Association of Law Libraries. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and rooting on his Oakland Athletics.
