J.D., William Mitchell College of Law Assistant Dean Brabbit earned her B.A. cum laude at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. She went on to earn her J.D. at William Mitchell College of Law where she served on the Law Review. After her graduation she was a Law Clerk to Harry A. Sieben before beginning her career as firm associate. Prior to coming to the University of St. Thomas School of Law Brabbit was a founding partner at McCoy, Peterson, Jorstad & Brabbit, Ltd. in Minneapolis, Minnesota specializing in personal injury, products liability, wrongful death, premises liability and insurance litigation. At the University of St. Thomas Brabbit has directed the award winning Mentor Externship program and alumni relations efforts. Brabbit has clearly established herself as a leading legal professional in Minnesota. In the fall of 2007 she was invited to become a member of the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation. In June of 2007, she received the Hennepin County Bar Association’s Professionalism Award and in 2005, Minnesota Lawyer honored her as one of fifteen Minnesota Attorneys of the Year. She serves on the Council of the Minnesota State Bar Association and chairs its General Policy Committee. She is a past-president of Minnesota Women Lawyers and also serves on its Advisory Board. She serves on the Board of Governors of Minnesota Association for Justice. She has also been named Super Lawyer, Minnesota Law and Politics, on 8 occasions. |
