Dave Bateson is the Director of the Mentor Externship Program.  Bateson is responsible for facilitating and supervising one-to-one mentor relationships for every School of Law student with a legal professional.  In this role Bateson recruits practicing attorney's to serve as mentors and spends time in the classroom as a teacher in the Mentor Program.

Before joining the University of St. Thomas, Dave worked at Rider Bennett in the Litigation Department. While at Rider Bennett, Dave handled civil litigation files from inception to closing, including client intake, discovery, depositions, trial and appeal; where he successfully developed his own workers compensation practice and successfully marketed the firm to potential clients.  He previously worked as a law clerk at Gislason & Hunter LLP.
