The Future for In-House Counsel
The Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership in the Professions presents "The Future for In-House Counsel," the Fredrikson and Byron Law Firm Lecture in honor of John Byron and a Medtronic Business and Law Roundtable. The event will be held Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Schulze Grand Atrium at the University of St. Thomas School of Law.
A presentation will be made by Professor Richard Susskind, followed by a panel discussion featuring Laura Witte, general counsel, secretary and vice president, Cargill; Jon Oviatt, chief legal officer and secretary, Mayo Clinic; and Norm Linnell, Holloran Center fellow and retired general counsel, secretary and vice president, Donaldson Company.
Susskind is one of the most insightful and influential experts internationally on the future of the legal services market. He holds a doctorate in law and computers from Oxford, and has worked on legal technology and how it is changing the market for over 30 years. He has been invited to speak in over 40 countries and has addressed audiences numbering more than 250,000. He is the author of six books including The End of Lawyers? Rethinking the Nature of Legal Services (Oxford, 2008) and Tomorrow’s Lawyers (Oxford, 2013).
