UST Law Room 458

What: Lenten Retreat in Daily Living: In the Desert With Jesus

When: Mondays 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. beginning Feb. 11 through March 18

Where: Room 458

When you love someone, you stick with them in the difficult times as well as the easy times.  Lent is our invitation to journey with Jesus in the desert – a place of testing...a place of struggle…a place of covenant…a place of darkness as well as light.

During this Lenten Retreat in Daily Living, we will walk with Jesus in the desert and, by so doing, get more deeply in touch with our own desires and longings, our temptations, our weaknesses…and our strengths. Along the way, we will also learn from the experience of those who walked with Jesus during his most difficult times.

In a Retreat in Daily Living, participants commit themselves to a half-hour of prayer each day and go about their daily lives as usual. Prayer material relating to the theme of the retreat is provided for each day. In addition to a daily period of personal prayer, the participants in the retreat will meet for an hour each week. During this time they will share their experience of prayer in small groups and Professor Stabile will offer input on prayer and some of the dynamics of this type of retreat experience. She will also provide prayer material for each day of the following week.

Each session runs from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. A light lunch will be served. This retreat is designed for those beginning to pray in a personal way as well as for those who have been praying for years.

As lunch will be served, please RVSP to Bethany Fletcher at moel1755@stthomas.edu.  If you know that you will not be able to attend all four sessions, please let Bethany know when you RSVP which sessions you will be attending.  (It really helps us to be able to get an accurate lunch count.)

As are all of our retreat programs, this program is sponsored by the Holloran Center.
