If you’re still seeking legal work, short-term or long-term, full-time or part-time, this is something you won't want to miss.
On Tuesday, October 29 and Wednesday, October 30, we will be hosting interviewing with Robert Half Legal, Kelly Law Registry, and Beacon Hill Staffing. The representatives are Michael Baker (Robert Half Legal, a UST Law alum), Stachia Ullmann (Kelly Law Registry), and Stefanie Cossalter (Beacon Hill).
While there is no specific job associated with these interviews, this is a very efficient way to get on the radar screen of three of the largest placement agencies in the Twin Cities. Sometimes they know about positions for short-term document review (which, if you are still seeking, would look good on your resume and provide some income); sometimes they are recruiting for long-term, full-time positions.
This will work just like other on-campus interviews, except instead of having one interview, you will have three in a row. You will only need to upload a resume, so work with your career strategist to get it polished up. We will contact you next week with information on how to apply.
The goal of this event is for them to get to know you so that, if a position comes up that they think you would be perfect for, they can pass it along to you. Let us know if you have any questions.
When an attorney leaves one law firm to join another, there are a host of ethical, legal and practical issues to untangle. In this presentation, Christopher Grgurich, Lindquist & Vennum Deputy General Counsel, will discuss the law governing what competitive activities attorneys may and may not take prior to leaving their current employer, how the Rules of Professional Conduct impact what attorneys can do when preparing to leave an employer to work for a competitor firm, and what obligations they have to their client. Discussion will include the use of case examples to illustrate typical problems that arise and practical tips for both attorneys and law firms for navigating these issues.
