Federal Clerkship Spreadsheet

If you plan on applying for federal clerkships, please let us know! The first deadline for alerting CPD of your intention to apply was June 1. If you did not get your spreadsheet in, don't worry, just send us your spreadsheet as soon as you can.  Even if you don't know exactly the judges to whom you want to apply or are still talking to potential recommenders, please let us know so we have you on our radar. Instructions for preparing a spreadsheet are here - it should take less than 5 minutes.

  1. Go to the OSCAR website.
  2. If this is your first time at OSCAR, click on the Register link below the log-in.
  3. Log-in to OSCAR.
  4. Hover over "Search for Positions" and click on Judges.
  5. Click the box next to the positions you would like to apply.
  6. Add them to a folder.
  7. Click on the folder tab.
  8. Click on the button at the that says Save this list to Excel.
  9. When the pop-up comes up, click Open.
  10. Modify the 4 final columns:
    1. Column K --> Does the Judge use OSCAR?
    2. Column L --> Recommender 1
    3. Column M --> Recommender 2
    4. Column N --> Recommender 3 (if necessary)
  11. Fill in these new columns, letting us know whether the judge is accepting applications through OSCAR and who your recommenders will be for each judge (some may only need 2).
  12. Save the document with your name and the date.
  13. Email to daniel.winterlin@stthomas.edu
