Cathy Finnegan is the Assistant Director of Career and Professional Development. She has 6 years of experience helping law students chart out their legal careers and get their first legal jobs. She greatly enjoys working with law students and is particularly skilled at reflective listening and helping UST Law students and alumni with decision making. Before joining the University as a career counselor for law students, Cathy worked as an attorney in a variety of capacities. Cathy worked as an Assistant Attorney General at the Minnesota AGO in consumer enforcement and represented the Minnesota Departments of Commerce and Public Safety. She also worked in employment law and business and commercial litigation at Fredrikson & Byron, P.A. She was the Notes Editor for the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies at Indiana University. Cathy has nearly completed her Master’s in Counseling Psychology at the University of St. Thomas and she graduated with honors from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN in 1999 and DePauw University in 1994.
