Assessments

The Office of Career & Professional Development has a number of tools available to help you in your self-assessment journey.  Below are a list of the tools currently available to UST students and alumni.

Assessment	Overview	Use
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®)	The MBTI assessment is the most widely used personality assessment in the world. It offers a foundation for understanding individual differences and applying that understanding to the ways people think, communicate, and interact.	Using the MBTI, we will generate your Career Report to help you identify your work preferences, strengths and areas for growth in career development. This report can help you choose an area of legal practice that fits your workplace preferences and a potential client base with which you will have a natural inclination to bond and develop rapport.  It can also help you develop a job search strategy that will tap into your interpersonal skills.
Strong Interest Inventory (Strong)	The Strong assessment is the most researched and widely used career planning instrument in the world.  It has guided thousands of individuals in their search for a rich and fulfilling life of work and leisure. The Strong generates an in-depth assessment of your interests among a broad range of occupations, work and leisure activities, and educational subjects.	The report will help you choose an area of legal practice wherein your interest patterns, preferred style of working, learning, leading, risk-taking, and team participation would be similar to those of satisfied lawyers within that field of practice.
