As the Bylaws outline, the Board includes four officers (Past-president, President, President-elect and Secretary/Treasurer), 15 directors and the Student Government President. Each officer will hold a one-year term, and each director will hold a two-year term (with the exception of 2007 in order to stagger the attrition of the director positions). The President and the Past-president will also hold a seat on the UST Law Board of Governors. In 2007, seven of the 15 directors were appointed to a one-year term, and eight were appointed to a two-year term.
Through an appointments process, members of the Alumni Association will fill open positions on the Law Alumni Board. For 2008, the following positions will be open: Secretary/Treasurer, and seven director positions. Pursuant to the Bylaws, Monica Kelly, the current President-elect, will serve as President in 2008.
If you are interesting in serving in a leadership position on the Law Alumni Board, please submit a copy of your resume and a Statement of Interest to Assistant Dean Lisa Montpetit Brabbit. The Statement of Interest should identify the position you are applying for, your qualifications, why you want to serve and what you hope to bring to the Board. Applications are due no later than November 30, 2007. Appointments will be announced no later than December 15, 2007.
