Alumni Relations - Alumni Committees

Alumni Association Committee membership is open to any member of the Alumni Association who expresses an interest in the committee.    Annual Giving Committee

The Annual Fund Committee is a vital committee to the School of Law.  The committee's goal is to work toward 100% participation of law alumni in giving to the annual fund.  The "participation rate" for a law school is often viewed as a measuring stick for alumni acceptance, support and confidence in the law program. Law schools compare participation rates and the ABA collects information on participation rates from all ABA accredited law school. This past year the School of Law was in the top 1% of all ABA accredited law schools for its percentage of alumni participation (52%). To join, please contact Law Alumni Relations.

   Social Committee

The Social Committee evaluates options to maintain a strong sense of community and relationships with UST Law Alumni by evaluating and recommending social events, in addition to the Swearing-in Breakfast,Alumni Christmas Party, and Reunion, that connect alumni with one another. 2010 Social Committee

In 2009 the Social Committee hosted the Alumni Tubing Event, Alumni Boat Cruise and Alumni Golf Outing.

2009 Golf Event Social Sub-Committee
In 2009 the First Annual Alumni Golf Outing was held on October 21st at Bluff Creek Golf Course. The event is an opportunity for alumni to gather together for a fun filled day of golf, camaraderie and a barbeque social.

Program Committee

The Program Committee assists with the Alumni Pro Bono Program, working with VLN and MJF. The committee evaluates options to maintain a strong sense of community and relationships with UST Law Alumni by evaluating programs that interest and involve the alumni, including CLE opportunities, speakers and other mission related events.  

2010 Program Committee

In 2009 the committee partnered with Project Homeless Connect to provide an opportunity for alumni to participate in pro bono activity with one another while serving the community. The Committe also hosted a CLE titled "Pro Bono in a Down Economy: Challenges and Rewards." To join the committee, please contact Law Alumni Relations.

   Reunion Committee

The first reunion was held in 2009, celebrating the Class of 2004's Five Year Reunion. Five Year Reunions are in May of each year and the planning process begins in June of the prior year. If you are interested in being involved in planning your Five Year Reunion, please contact Law Alumni Relations.
