The Minority Corporate Counsel Association is sponsoring the Lloyd M. Johnson, Jr. Scholarship Program. The scholarship program promotes academic excellence and diversity in law schools, and is open to college seniors from disadvantaged backgrounds that have been newly accepted into law school. Ten students will receive a scholarship of $10,000 a year for three years, and three to five runner-ups will receive a one time award of $10,000 to assist with first year expenses. Additional components of the scholarship program include access to prominent members of the legal community as mentors, and the MCCA’s support in locating first year and summer legal employment in leading corporate law departments.
Information is available through the Minority Corporate Counsel Association or the United Negro College Fund.
