Parking is available for students on a space available basis. Minneapolis Parking Sales for Fall Semester will begin in early August. All students at the time they purchase a parking permit are required to present their UST ID or a photo ID. Parking can be purchased by coming to the Department of Public Safety & Parking Services main office located next to the 2nd floor skyway of School of Law.
Full-time day students, (students taking at least 12 credit hours, and are on campus 3 or more days per week) may be eligible to purchase a UST student parking permit. This permit is good in all commuter parking lots on the St. Paul campus, as well as the City of Minneapolis Ramp at 11th Street and Harmon Place. The cost of parking for 2012-2013 per semester is $225, plus a $30 refundable damage deposit. You can begin purchasing parking permits in August 2013.
The parking pass allows you to park in the designated parking ramp from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. on a daily basis.
With the rising costs of gasoline and parking, many students use public transportation to get to and from campus. Students who are registered for any number of credits are eligible to purchase a Student MetroPass for a discounted rate. The rate for 2012-13 is $150 per semester.
The pass allows students unlimited rides on all Metro Transit buses and the light rail system for the entire semester. Students who purchase University of St. Thomas parking permits are not eligible for the MetroPass. Passes are non-transferable and must be returned if the student withdraws from classes. MetroPasses are available at St. Thomas Public Safety offices and a valid UST ID is required in order to purchase a pass. Passes must first be pre-registered through Murphy Online. Registration is available in August 2013.
