Health Services Clinics

The University of St. Thomas Student Health Services provide a full range of medical care and information on how to minimize the potential for illness or injury. Health Services is staffed by RNs, Nurse Practitioners and MDs and services are free for all University of St. Thomas students. There is a charge for immunizations and prescription drugs received at Student Health Services.

  • The Minneapolis Health Services Clinic is located in Terrence Murphy Hall (TMH) Suite 110 and is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2 – 6 p.m.
  • The St. Paul Clinic is open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and is located on the lower level of Brady Residence Hall.

Immunizations

The state of Minnesota requires that all students born after 01/01/1957 be immunized against diphtheria and tetanus (TD), and measles, mumps and rubella (MMR).  MMR will have 2 dates and TD must be within the past ten years.  All new students must enter their MMR and TD dates by the 45th day of class via Murphy Online.

International students also need to be screened for TB and may be required to have a tuberculin (TB) test.  We provide these tests at Health Services.

The following immunizations are also recommended for students but not required:

  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Influenza Vaccine
  • Meningitis
  • Polio Vaccine
  • Varicella

UST Mandatory Insurance Requirements

Domestic students

Law students enrolled in 9 or more credits are required to demonstrate health insurance coverage every fall semester. Students meet must complete the health insurance verification process or they will automatically be enrolled in and billed for the UST sponsored plan (Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan).

To complete the health insurance verification process, students must enter their health insurance information or purchase the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan via Murphy Online.  Students will receive reminders each fall to complete this process.

Murphy Online will open August 1, 2013 to complete the health insurance verification process for the 2013/2014 academic year. For those purchasing the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan during the annual enrollment period, coverage will be effective starting August 15, 2013.
