Civil Procedure II: Jurisdiction & Erie

This course will examine the constitutional and statutory framework within which the civil justice system operates. Students will examine the sources and limitations of judicial power over persons and organizations (personal jurisdiction) and over particular cases (subject matter jurisdiction). Students will also explore the extent to which state law must be applied in federal court.
