Banking Law

This course will examine the nature and scope of the federal and state laws regulating financial institutions, including national and state-chartered commercial banks, thrift institutions and holding companies. Students will study the history and evolution of the banking industry and explore the social and economic policies underlying banking regulation. Additional topics will include entry restrictions, expansion of bank activities, branch banking and interstate banking.
