The mission of AI-UST is to do its part to end all human rights violations including, but not limited to, forms of discrimination and mental and physical abuse. Its goal is also to promote the universal standards of human rights which should be granted to every person around the world without regard for race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, color, national origin, or ability. It pledges to achieve these goals by educating students and by using direct action from Amnesty International’s urgent action files and theme campaigns.
Our purpose is to provide a structure that leads to the attraction, retention, and well being of St. Thomas students of color. We support our purpose by striving to achieve a balance between a socially attractive setting and an environment that fosters educational, cultural, and institutional growth.
