Wider Networks

‌The following are some of the regional and national networking organizations with which Justice and Peace Studies has a collaborative relationship.

Peace and Justice Studies Association

The Peace and Justice Studies Association (PJSA) is dedicated to bringing together academics, grassroots activists, and K-12 teachers to explore alternatives to violence and share visions and strategies for peacebuilding, social justice, and social change. PJSA also serves as a professional association for scholars in the field of peace and conflict resolution studies. Each year, JPST sends professors and students to the PJSA annual meeting.

Catholic Peacebuilding Network

Catholic Peacebuilding Network (CPN) is an associationof practitioners, academics, clergy, and laity from around the world that seeks to enhance the study and practice of Catholic peacebuilding, especially at the local level. CPN aims to deepen bonds of solidarity among Catholic peacebuilders, share and analyze "best practices," expand the peacebuilding capacity of the Church in areas of conflict, and encourage the further development of a theology of a just peace.

Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers

Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers (MAP) is a coalition of over seventy organizations across the state dedicated to building a culture of peace and nonviolence. MAP's mission is to strengthen the effectiveness of the peace and justice community by enabling member organizations to share their resources, insights and ideas and devise cooperative strategies to accomplish common goals.

Every Church a Peace Church

The vision of Every Church a Peace Church (ECAPC) is the formation of new peace churches and the transformation of war-justifying churches into peace churches, so that the world will be turned toward peace as churches live and teach as Jesus lived and taught. JPST co-sponsored a "Pre-emptive Peacemaking" regional conference with ECAPC in Sept, 2008.

Pax Christi USA

Pax Christi USA strives to create a world that reflects the Peace of Christ by exploring, articulating, and witnessing to the call of Christian nonviolence. This work begins in personal life and extends to communities of reflection and action to transform structures of society.  Pax Christi USA commits itself to peace education and promotes the gospel imperative of peacemaking as a priority in the Catholic Church in the United States.
