Work with the poor: Bronx.

Sarah Kirk Lavezzo. 1991, psychology major, justice and peace minor.

Sarah worked after graduation for a year in the Bronx, New York City with the QUEST volunteers.  She worked as "educational liaison" for the Dominican Sisters' Family Health Service, directing their after school program.

At the end of her volunteer year, she was offered and accepted a full time paid position in "educational outreach" in the Bronx.

Kids in the South Bronx, she reports, think that white suburban life would be boring.

Now she is back in the Twin Cities with a husband–another volunteer  whom she met in the Bronx–and child.
