Aaron Franklin, December 1996, majors in History and Philosophy. Aaron took one of the Justice and Peace Studies core courses (Theologies of Justice and Peace), and married TaeRa, a JPST major..

In the fall and winter of 1996-97, Aaron worked for American Express as a Financial Analyst Intern. As part of that work, he designed a program utilizing historical performance, sector, industry, and regional diversification to identify equity and fixed income mutual funds to meet the requirements of clients with varying investment needs.

On the strength of their subsequent recommendations, he attained a two-year position as a Financial Analyst in the Investment Research Department of Goldman Sachs in New York City, where, with a team of seven analysts, he conducted fundamental research and analysis of 65 Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and real estate company securities.

In the course of his work with Goldman Sachs, Aaron developed a computer program to analyze real estate transactions. He continued development of this program while working in the Research Department of the real estate investment banking firm DTZ Rockwood, and later used it to help a real estate magazine, The Real Deal, expand and improve its monthly publication. Currently, he is launching his own company, Capital Intelligence Solutions, a research firm for commercial real estate sales that will produce an on-line New York Real Estate Review. This publication will list and give statistics for (and analysis of) all the real estate transactions in the five boroughs of New York City for each month. For example, the initial November 2007 report included 223 individual transactions. The largest was an 183,000 square foot lease; the smallest a 167 square foot office lease.

Since TaeRa Franklin, his wife, is a lawyer working in foreclosure prevention, and he is working to keep financiers and real estate agents well-informed and wise, the couple is ideally situated to help New York deal justly, compassionately, and creatively with the current world-wide real estate and financial crisis.
