Professional experience:
Research assistant, Poynter Center for the Study of Ethics and American Institutions; publications specialist, Indiana Prevention Resource Center; instructor of communication and adviser to Stephens Life, Stephens College; director of publications, Loras College; reporter, Iowa City Press-Citizen.

Scholarship and service:
Professor Bunton's academic interests include: media ethics; media, gender, race and class; and media accountability.  She has published in such venues as Journal of Mass Media Ethics, Journalism & Mass Communication Educator, and Public Integrity.  A frequent commentator on issues of media ethics, Dr. Bunton has been interviewed by various Minnesota media and written commentary for The St. Paul Pioneer Press.  She has given talks and workshops for a broad range of professional and community organizations, and she is past chair of the Media Ethics Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.

At UST:
Professor Bunton joined UST in 1993.  During January Term, she co-teaches Gender, Race and Media in London.
