Telephone features for Faculty and Staff

 

Hold

  1. To place an existing call on hold, press HOLD. 
  2. To retrieve a held call, press HOLD.
  3. You may place a call on hold and dial another party. You may then alternate between calls by pressing the HOLD button. 


 

Transfer/Three Way Conference

  1. To transfer a call OR set up 3 way conference: Press XFER button
  2. Listen for Dial Tone
  3. Dial next number
  4. Inform party of transfer or 3 way
  5. Press XFER button
  6. All parties are connected
  7. For Transfer, announce and hang up
  8. To rejoin if busy or no answer
  9. Press XFER button to return to first caller

Conference



To add UP TO seven parties (four of which may be external parties):

  1. Dial first party
  2. Press ACCESS #1 (first party on hold)
  3. Dial next party; announce Conference
  4. Press ACCESS #1; all parties connected
  5. Repeat steps to add additional parties
  6. Called party is busy or no answer;
  7. Hang up
  8. Press #1 (Note do no press ACCESS)
  9. To place the conference on hold:
  10. Press ACCESS#1
  11. Hang up
  12. To rejoin the conference:
  13. Lift Handset (hear "conference" 3 times)
  14. Press #1 (Note" do not press ACCESS)

Call Forward



 

  1. Lift handset
  2. Press *3 (hear confirmation tone once)
  3. Dial 5 digit UST extension where calls are to be forwarded
    (dial 2-7777 to fwd to your voice mail)
  4. Listen for confirmation tone
  5. Hang up
    NOTE: You will hear the word: "forward" repeated 3 times EACH time you lift the handset.  This confirms that your phone is being forwarded. Dial as usual.

To cancel:

  1. Lift handset
  2. Press #3
  3. Calls are returned to your extension

Abbreviated Dialing



Stores up to ten numbers for quick dialing!


To store:

  1. Press # + 4 + * (pound + 4 + star) 
  2. Enter Storage Number (0-9)
  3. Enter phone number 
  4. Hang up 

To use:

  1. Press # + 4 + Storage Number

Call Waiting



  1. Press HOLD (puts the first caller on hold)
  2. Hang up
  3. Answer the ringing phone to get second caller
    NOTE: If you have voice mail, the call will roll over to voice mail box after the caller hears three ring beeps.

Last Number Redial



Allows you to redial the last outgoing external call (this does not work for 5-digit dialing).

  1. Press # + 9 at dial tone.

Call Pickup



NOTE: You must be part of a Call Pickup Group

  1. Lift handset
  2. Press #7
  3. Answer the call from your pickup group

Call Park



NOTE: This is a requested feature not available to all areas.

To park a call:

  1. Press ACCESS *9
  2. Listen for and remember call park number
  3. Hang up handset

To retrieve a parked call:

  1. Lift handset
  2. Dial call park number
  3. Call is retrieved
