Extension: Last 5 digits of DID number
Local: 8 + (7 or 10) Digit Number
Long Distance: 8 + 1 + Area Code + Number + Account Code

Key Line Explanation

Extension(s): A 5-digit number where calls are made and received. This is where your DID (Direct Inward Dial) calls or calls that are transferred from the attendant land.

Stacking: While on the phone, this allows other callers to get a hold of you. The phone will make an alerting tone to inform you of a caller waiting. If not answered, the caller will go to voicemail.

Line Appearances: A 5 digit extension number allowing you to monitor another person’s telephone activity and/or answer calls in their absence. These lines may or may not ring at your telephone.

Adjusting the Ringer Volume

  1. Press the volume key to hear a sample ring
  2. While the ring plays, adjust the volume by pressing the up or down volume key
  3. To save the ring volume setting, press settings and then press the Save soft key

Changing the Ringer Sound

  1. Press the settings button
  2. Select Ring Type from the Settings menu
  3. Press the Select soft key
  4. To view the list of ring types, press the scroll key
  5. Press the Play soft key to hear the selected ring type
  6. To choose the ring you want press Select and then press the OK soft key
  7. Press the Save soft key to save your selection and exit the Settings menu

Changing the LCD Contrast

  1. Press the settings button
  2. Select Contrast from the Settings menu
  3. Press the Up or Down soft keys or the volume key to set the desired intensity of the display
  4. Press the OK soft key to accept your changes
  5. To save contrast setting, pres the Save soft key and exit the Setting menu

Call Processing Feature Explanation


Placing a call using a telephone number

  1. Lift the Handset
  2. Press Speaker or press the NewCall soft key and dial the number
  3. If using a headset, press Headset and dial the number

Answering a call

  1. Lift the Handset
  2. Press Speaker or press the Answer soft key
  3. Press Headset, and press the line button of the incoming call

Ending a call

  1. If using the handset, hang up the handset
  2. If using the speakerphone, press Speaker or the EndCall soft key
  3. If using the headset, press the EndCall soft key

i Divert

To send call to voicemail (Either in an idle state or while on a call):
  1. Press the i Divert soft key

Muting a call

Allows you to mute the handset, headset, or speakerphone, preventing the party you are speaking to from hearing what you or someone else in the room is saying.
  1. To activate mute during a call, press Mute
  2. To release mute, press Mute again

Placing a call on hold

  1. To place a call on hold, press the Hold soft key
  2. To return to the call, press the Resume soft key
    (Note: if multiple calls are on hold use the scroll key to select the desired call before pressing Resume)

Transferring a call

  1. While on a call, press the Trnsfer soft key, the call is automatically put on hold
  2. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call
  3. When it rings on the other end, press Trnsfer again, or when the party answers, announce the call and press Trnsfer
  4. Hang up if the party accepts the call
  5. If the party refuses the call, press the Resume soft key to return to the original call

Redialing the last number dialed

  1. Lift the handset an press the Redial soft key
  2. Press the Redial soft key to activate the speakerphone or headset

Forwarding all calls

Allows you to forward all incoming calls to another extension
  1. Press the CFwdAll soft key, you should hear two beeps
  2. Enter the number to which you want to forward all of your calls
  3. To cancel forwarding of all calls, press the CfwdAll soft key

Placing a conference call

Allows you to talk with multiple calling parties (6)
  1. During a call, press the More soft key and then the Confrn soft key, a new line automatically selected and places the other party on hold
  2. Place a call to another number
  3. When the call connects, press Confrn again to add this party to the conference Call
  4. Press Confrnlist to view a list of attendees

Directory Feature Explanation


Viewing or Dialing Missed Calls

  1. Press the directories button
  2. Press the Select soft key to select Missed Calls from the Directory menu, the call history for missed calls is displayed
  3. Click the Dial soft key, use EditDial soft key to add appropriate access code(s)
  4. Press the Exit soft key twice to exit the Directory menu

Viewing or Dialing Received and Placed Calls

  1. Press the directories button
  2. Use the scroll key to select the desired call history option: Received Calls, Placed Calls
  3. Press the Select soft key to display the call history list
  4. Press the Dial soft key to dial a number from the call history list, use EditDial soft key to modify the number if necessary
  5. Press the Exit soft key twice to exit the Directory menu

Making Calls from a Corporate Directory

  1. Press the directories button
  2. Use the scroll key to select Corporate Directory
  3. Press the Select soft key to display the directory search options
  4. Use the scroll key to select the search option: First Name, Last Name, Number
  5. Use the numbers corresponding to the letters on the dialing pad to enter a name or number to find in the directory
  6. Press the Dial soft key to dial a number for the corporate directory

SPEED DIALs explanation


  1. At Web browser http://10.209.96.20/ccmuser
  2. Click on Speed Dial and the following will appear

Login ID and Password are the same as when logging onto your computer.

 

Once logged in, you will see the following screen. Click on Add/Update your Speed Dials

 

**FOR A 7940 PHONE YOU WILL SEE:

Speed Dial 1 will be assigned to extra button on phone.  To use-press key.  
Maximum of 99 speed dials

Steps to programming your speed dials are:

  1. Click in speed dial box and type number (9 + number).
  2. Click in Display Text box and type name of speed dial
    Note: The name only shows on this screen. It does not appear on phone.
  3. Click UPDATE at the bottom of the screen

Steps to use speed dials (2 through 99):

  1. Dial code ex: 2 (with phone on hook).
  2. Press AbbrDial soft key.
  3. Lift handset or stay in handsfree mode.

The speed dial list can be printed by going to File>Print.

NOTE: Speed dials cannot be used to transfer or conference calls.

 

**FOR A 7960 PHONE YOU WILL SEE:

Speed Dial 1-4 will be assigned to the extra buttons on phone. To use-press key.
