Software Licensing Rules and Information...

To request any of the following software titles, send an email to IRTPurchase@stthomas.edu.  Please include the following information:

• Your budget index number
• The AssetID number of the computer on which you would like the software installed. The AssetID number can be found on a white or silver sticker on the side of the computer (not the monitor, unless you have a Mac desktop) and looks like this: A000xxxxx.

Adobe

• Volume licenses have been set up for all Adobe products (including products formerly owned by Macromedia) 
• Clients have to pay for all Adobe products except Adobe Reader or eBook Reader
• Home use available (for faculty and staff only) for products purchased for use here at UST (email IRTPurchase@stthomas.edu for details)

Apple

• Volume licensing has been set up for Mac OS X
• Home use NO LONGER available for Mac OS X as of 10/13/09 due to Apple policy changes.

CollegeNET

• Volume licensing has been set up for Resource25 (unlimited licenses)
• Used primarily by Facilities Scheduling, IRT, Athletics, Auxiliary Services

Corel

• Volume licensing has been set up for WordPerfect
• Used primarily by School of Law

ESRI

• Volume licensing has been set up for ArcView, ArcGIS 
• Used primarily by Geography, Geology, Economics, Engineering

Extensis

• Volume licensing has been set up for Portfolio
• Used primarily by University Relations, Web & Media Services

FileMaker

• Volume licensing has been set up for FileMaker Pro (free for Mac users, $24.00 for Windows users)
• Home use available for faculty and staff only (email IRTPurchase@stthomas.edu for details)

Inspiration

• Volume licensing has been set up for Inspiration and Kidspiration
• Used primarily by School of Education
• Home use available for faculty and staff only (email IRTPurchase@stthomas.edu for details)
  

Microsoft

• Campus Agreement has been set up, which allows most operating system, server, and application products to be run here at UST. Includes the following:
  • Office
  • Publisher
  • FrontPage
  • Project
  • Visio Professional
  • Windows operating system
• Home use available (faculty and staff only).  Office and Windows are available for checkout from OSF or Keffer Library.  For other applications, please e-mail IRTPurchase@stthomas.edu.

Minitab

• Unlimited Windows license for Minitab
• Home use allowed for faculty, staff and students.  Available for checkout from OSF or Keffer Library.

National Instruments

• Unlimited site license for LabView
• Used primarily by Physics, Chemistry, and Engineering
• Home use is NOT allowed

Palisade

• Volume licensing has been set up for DecisionTools Suite
• Used primarily by Executive and Day MBA Programs

Quantitative Micro Software

• Used primarily by Economics and Finance

Quark

• Volume licensing has been set up for Quark XPress
• Home use not allowed

SAS

• Unlimited site license has been set up for SAS
• Used by QMCS/GPS, Biology, Economics, Mathematics, and Finance
• Home use allowed for faculty, staff, and students.  Available for checkout from OSF or Keffer Library.
  

Solidworks

• Volume licensing has been set up for SolidWorks (16 licenses)
• Used primarily by School of Engineering and Physics

SPSS

• 500-user Windows & Mac license has been set up for SPSS
• 100-user license for Advanced and Regression modules
• Home use allowed for faculty and staff only (email IRTPurchase@stthomas.edu for details)

Symantec

• Volume licensing has been set up for Symantec virus protection software
• Home use available for faculty, staff, and students (click here)

The Math Works

• Volume licensing has been set up for Matlab and various toolboxes
• Used primarily by Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, and GPS/QMCS
• Home use allowed for faculty and staff only (email IRTPurchase@stthomas.edu for details)

Wolfram

• A site license has been purchased for Mathematica
• Home use allowed for faculty, staff, and students.  Available for checkout from OSF or Keffer Library.
